Welcome back to the TDMC (The Debut a Month Challenge)! Today I'm reviewing a new debut release that just came out today that I've been curious about for years now, Jessica S Olson's Sing Me Forgotten.
Sing Me Forgotten is a gender-flipped Phantom of the Opera, starring a female phantom with memory magic powers linked to music.
If that hasn't hooked you, I don't know what will.
Having read it in one sitting the day it released, I can now say that Sing Me Forgotten is an enchanting look into love and darkness, every bit as spell binding as the protagonist's unearthly voice. I love the mysteries she seeks to discover, both about herself and the boy she falls for. I love the lush style that transports you to a magical new world that is inspired by France but still all its own. I love the way SMF left me dazed and enchanted when I finished it in one sitting, looking at the clock and wondering where the time had possibly gone.
So those are my thoughts on Sing Me Forgotten. Check it out, and you won't be disappointed.
